I tried my first flan today! Not so great. Definitely worse than I expected. But apparently none of the student's Julia has had liked it. And I didn't feel so bad not liking it because of that reason but also because I've basically liked everything else she's fed me!
But my advice, if you are an American, chances are you probably won't like flan. It's that much of a cultural difference.
