Just got back from eating lunch with part of the family. I got to meet more people, finally! I met Julia's daughter, brother and his wife, niece and nephew, and two other people who I'm not sure how are related because its one of those confusing family things and even more confusing in Spanish. But they were all super nice! One of the adults studied in Chicago last year (I think it was last year) and spoke English so that was helpful and the kids did too but they were too shy to speak in front of me so I tried speaking as much as I could in Spanish to show them that they didn't have to be afraid! No way is my Spanish good enough to be proud of haha
The food was amazing, as always, and it was really nice to be with a big family again. It kind of reminded me of Thanksgiving or Christmas with my crazy family. Big, loud, but loving. Come to find out, they all came here first because they are going to a funeral right now. Julia said if it was a party I could come but she didn't think I would really want to go to a funeral. That was nice of her. It would have been interesting to experience a funeral at a pueblo but I have too much to do! A couple of us are meeting up at Pilar around 6:30 so that will be another nice study break. If I can ever get my homework done! I'm making good progress though, so as long as I can stay focused and motivated I should be fine!
